1. Winter Wonderland in MFA
Celebrate the snowy
season during vacation week at the MFA by making art inspired by winter. Enjoy
free activities all week long.

MFA First Fridays is on the first Friday of each month from 6:00–9:30 pm. Join us for fine art, music, cash bars featuring signature cocktails, and delicious tapas available for purchase.

Museum.

The Kids’ mobile tour introduces young
visitors age 6 to 10 to the Art of the Americas and Contemporary collections.
The galleries are brought to life with the help of three quirky characters:
Lucia, a high school reporter; Steve, an adventurous 10-year-old; and Malone,
an art detective. Together they help kids look at art in new, creative ways.
Members $5; nonmembers $6; kids 17 and under $4. Free for visitors who are Deaf
or blind.
- A Guide to Family Fun at the MFA | Sharf Visitor Center
Pick up one of our free pocket-sized
informational guides on visiting and exploring the Museum with kids. Includes
tips, gallery games, and ideas for looking at and discussing art together.
- Behind the Scenes Galleries | Art of the Americas Wing Galleries 125 and 225
Peek behind the scenes to learn about all
the hidden work that happens every day at the MFA. Watch a video, explore the
interactive kiosks, or just relax on the couches to enjoy views of Boston.
2. Downtown Boston Holiday Market

Santa Claus
also at the market daily from noon to 2 pm and an additional hour of 3 to 4 pm on weekends. It is free to take pictures with Santa. Don't forget bring your own camera.Night Lights
A free
holiday-themed light show of projected images and coordinated music, running
from Dec. 18th starting at 4:30 pm with half-hour shows daily from 4:30 - 8:30
pm through January 1st, 2015. Snowflakes dance, colors swirl, and music will
play.
The Night Lights show is in the plaza in
front of Walgreens Emporium, at the corner of School and Washington streets at
Readers Park/Irish Famine Memorial. There are alternating shows every
half-hour.
3. Blue State Coffee: Weekly Free Coffee Tasting!!

Each week, Blue State Coffee hosts free coffee cuppings and
tastings. Run by Coffee Director
Nate, tastings range from trying new microlots to seeing how different
brewing temperatures affect the coffee taste and flavor. It's informative and
fun (and free!)
4. Free Screening: Winter’s Bone
